Onsen

After skiing some of the world's driest, deepest powder, why not soak your weary muscles in one of Niseko's many onsen.

Onsen are Japan's natural volcanic hotsprings. Steaming hot water bubbles up from the deep within the earth and is captured in large indoor and outdoor baths - the perfect way to finish a great day. Niseko is a famous onsen destination for the Japanese and tourists from around Asia.

There are many onsen in the Niseko region, all with unique feels and views. We recommend you try a few as they each offer a different onsen experience.

You can choose from the following:

Yukoro onsen ( 1 minute stroll from Powder Haven), Niseko Anupuri hotel onsen, Niseko Grand Hotel, Niseko Goshiki onsen resort, Niseko Higashiyama Prince hotel, Niseko Prince hotel onsen, Scott hotel onsen and Yamada onsen hotel.

Japanese tradition requires that bathers are not allowed in onsen. Modesty towels are used to "cover up". These can be hired at most onsens. Please check with the individual onsen before you go.

We recommend you DO bring a pair of bathers and goggles however as Niseko's swimming pool requires that swimmers MUST wear bathers. Try not to confuse the two!
